A fun fact about myself:
I love (most) music: classic rock, jazz, classical, 80’s pop, etc.; and oh yeah, I make great mashed potatoes.
What can you expect as my client:
My unwavering commitment to you, period. I will be your fan, your cheerleader. I will accept you. I will care.
Who am I outside of therapy:
I am a lifetime hobbyist musician, a proud crossword puzzle word nerd, and an unabashed lover of all things Seinfeld.
How did I become a therapist:
I always knew this was the career for me, but it took a 30-year detour in the corporate world to act on it. Translation: this is a second career that I wish had been my first. As George Eliot wrote, “It’s never too late to be what you might have been.” Words to live by.
Prior to attending graduate school to become a clinical social worker, I spent 30 years in the corporate world. There were positives and negatives, of course, but truth be told, I never quite fit in. I always knew my purpose was more interpersonal and human in nature; and so, I took a left turn, and I’ve never looked back.
My ideal client is anyone who is looking for help with either a current life challenge or with something in themselves they feel has just always gotten in the way of the life they want. Learning effective ways to exist within ourselves while also learning how to actively choose a better path is a powerful combination that can reunite clients with the best versions of themselves. I work with my clients to help them achieve this.
